Mid Air Collision With Scotland Goalkeeper

Hungary's Barnabas Varga Stable in Hospital After Air Clash

Mid-Air Collision with Scotland Goalkeeper

Hungary's striker Barnabas Varga is stable in hospital after being carried off on a stretcher following a mid-air clash with Scotland goalkeeper David Marshall during their Euro 2024 match. Varga, 27, was injured in the first half of the Group A match at Hampden Park in Glasgow when he collided with Marshall as both players went for a high ball. The Hungarian forward was knocked unconscious and was treated on the pitch for several minutes before being taken off on a stretcher.

Stable and Conscious

According to a statement from the Hungarian Football Federation, Varga is in a stable condition and conscious. He has undergone a CT scan and is being closely monitored by medical staff.

Varga's injury is a blow to Hungary, who are already without several key players for the tournament. The forward has been in good form for his club, Ferencvaros, this season and was expected to play a key role for his country at Euro 2024.

Scotland won the match 2-0, but the victory was overshadowed by Varga's injury. The thoughts of everyone at Hampden Park are with Varga and his family at this time.
