CNN anchor and chief Washington correspondent Jake Tapper joined the network in January 2013. Tapper hosts the weekday afternoon program "The Lead with Jake Tapper," which covers the latest news and political developments in Washington, D.C.

Before joining CNN, Tapper worked as a senior White House correspondent for ABC News, where he covered the Obama administration. He also worked as a correspondent for CNN from 2001 to 2006.

Tapper is the author of two books, "The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor" and "The Hellfire Club: The Washington Post Investigation of the CIA, Drones, and America's Secret Wars."
